I am a student of philosophy at Rice University in Texas, a founding member of the Bangladesh Liberal Forum, and an Associate Fellow at the Oxford Centre for Animal Ethics.

Before arriving in Texas in 2010, I spent four years at Heidelberg University where I earned a Diplom (the German equivalent of a Master's degree) in Theoretical Physics.

I have lectured and published across four continents on topics such as human rights, animal ethics, logic and string theory.

I am an academic, but also an activist. I believe that philosophy can, and must, involve itself in the pressing social and political issues of our time. I have been engaged in the animal rights movement, the fight against extreme poverty and the struggle for gay rights.

In my spare time, I like to ride my motorcycle, take photos, and travel. It's Khukie with whom I enjoy doing things most.

"Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry and narrow-mindedness and many of our people
need it sorely on those accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things
cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime."

Mark Twain, The Innocents Abroad, 1869
