I started my academic journey in the natural sciences making it all the way to the proposed very fundamentals of nature, the strings of string theory. I earned a Diplom (the German equivalent of a M.Sc.) in Theoretical Physics from Heidelberg University in 2009. During my time in Heidelberg I also took some excellent courses in the humanities and became increasingly interested in moral and political philosophy and epistemology. I have been a Ph.D. student in Philosophy at Rice University in Houston since August 2010.

Besides my life as an academic, I am also
an activist, a motorcyclist, a shutterbug and a traveler. It's Khukie with whom I enjoy doing things most.

"Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry and narrow-mindedness and many of our people
need it sorely on those accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things
cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime."

Mark Twain, The Innocents Abroad, 1869
